Pamplona Tapas Bar Information

Tucked away on Jefferson Street in Lafayette, Pamplona Tapas Bar offers an inviting escape for those craving a taste of Spain right in the heart of Louisiana. The cozy vibe of the place sets the perfect tone as you step inside, with its warm, rustic ambiance complemented by contemporary touches. The rich colors and stylish yet unpretentious décor make you feel like you're stepping into a local gem, ideal for both casual nights out and special occasions.

The menu is a dream for tapas lovers, with an array of small plates that are perfect for sharing or savoring solo. One standout is the Patatas Bravas, crispy golden potatoes drizzled with a spicy aioli sauce that's packed with flavor. If you're in the mood for seafood, the Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) won't disappoint, with each bite bursting with perfectly seasoned garlic and herbs. There’s something about the way the shrimp are cooked-tender, juicy, and full of that rich Mediterranean flavor.

For something a bit heartier, the Paella is a must-try. Whether you opt for the traditional seafood version or the mixed paella with chicken and chorizo, the combination of saffron rice and flavorful meats and seafood creates a dish that’s hard to put down. It’s the kind of plate that’s meant to be enjoyed slowly, savoring each bite as the flavors meld together in perfect harmony.

What truly stands out at Pamplona Tapas Bar, though, is the authenticity and attention to detail. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to offer suggestions or explain dishes, ensuring your experience is as enjoyable as possible. It’s clear that the owners and chefs take pride in offering not just a meal, but an experience that transports you. The cocktail menu is just as impressive, with a range of Spanish wines and creative concoctions that pair beautifully with any dish.

The vibe here is casual, but there’s an undeniable charm in how they manage to balance laid-back comfort with fine dining elements. Whether you’re a Lafayette local or just passing through, Pamplona Tapas Bar feels like a hidden treasure-a place where you can enjoy flavorful tapas in a welcoming, low-key environment. Each visit seems to bring something new, making it easy to keep coming back and trying something different every time.

What People's Say About Place

One of my favourite places in lafayette. Very dish was delicious. Charcoal grilled oysters were amazing. Skirt steak, pork tenderloin, lamb sliders, flatbread, calamari, beet salad, and olives were extremely delicious. Crab fitters was a little too much crust and not enough meats inside. Meatballs were also whatever. Waiters were great and made great cocktails.

Oh my God, this was my 1st experience here. Other than the fact that I were with my favorite people in the world. The food and service were great. Drinks were amazing. Old fashion!

Pamplona Tapas Bar is this gem in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, on Jefferson Street—it’s got that cozy, rustic Spanish vibe inspired by the real Pamplona in Spain. Standouts include the award-winning Paella—folks say order it early ‘cause it’s worth the wait, with perfect seafood or classic Valenciana. Tonight I tried the Classic Valenciana, very authentic and delicious. Excellent service and delicious food, a winning combination. Friendly and efficient servers.

Really enjoyed eating here. I have been in town a lot for work this last month and have eaten here 4x now and have tried so many different things on the menu. Everything was phenomenal. The bartenders Mark and Zach were so friendly and helpful. Great bartenders and made it easy to come back. Great spot! Octopus, foie gras, and the mushrooms are some of my favorites!

Exquisite experience, food was top tier. Only little issue was the size of the oysters, aside from that, no real big deal. The drink selection was amazing. There are plenty of spirits to choose from, plenty of shareable plates, very comfortable atmosphere. Lafayette never ceases to amaze the senses, way better option for food variety and localized fun compared to New Orleans.

Lafayette’s coolest place to dine in my opinion! When you book ask for Caleb! My Guy & I went in October & the whole place was decked out for Halloween! Caleb made sure the whole experience was fabulous & after watching some Baddies do a ski shot I had to share a shot called “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” with him. From one baddie to another!!!! Pamona busted my escargot cherry too! #FoodieGoals

One of the best Tapa's Restaurants I've ever been to. Their Surf & Turf Paella is incredible! A succulent duck, shrimp and in-house chorizo amongst a vegetable medley. Their other amazing tapa dishes are well thought out and taste divine! We're from California and plan to revisit this amazing jewel!

I travel a lot. This was the best meal and service I’ve had in a long time. The Paella was better than what I had at top rated restaurants in Barcelona. And Anna was the most amazing server. Knowledgeable, great recommendations, timed everything perfectly! Ask for her you will NOT regret it. I’ll be back!
